Spring in Portland
Good morning! I know, I know, I’ve been MIA for over a week now. Last week was rough, and when I’m not feeling 100%, I tend to crawl into a hole and just focus on my work and getting better. That means no blog posts, no Instagram, nada, zip, zilch.
So where was I you might ask? Globe trotting the world? Not quite. When we last left off last I had weekend plans of redoing my front hallway. I did, that went well. Then I got the home improvement bug, and finally put baseboards on my naked walls, something I’ve been saying I was going to do since June of last year (what can I say, I’m a procrastinator, pro being the optimal word.) That same week I finally bit the bullet and went to get allergy testing. Needless to say, I am allergic to just about everything that floats around in the air from January to November. Pollen and grass and weeds, oh my! Mix all these things into a little Rory cocktail, and I was exhausted. The testing gave me a one-day sinus infection, a lingering sore throat, and a lot of work to do.
But I’m back now, feeling better, and ready to play catch up. This morning as I watched my beautiful tulips fade away, I shot a couple of photos that I think represent how I’m feeling about the Portland area right about now. Spring that seems to be fading to and fro, pollen that is making me miserable but is so pretty, and of course coffee, my blended rocket fuel that is the only thing that gets meup in the morning. Enjoy the pretty pictures, and I even threw in a "behind the scenes" photo at the bottom so you can see that you don't have to have great light to take great pictures.
Have a great day, and soak in some sunshine for me, please!
