Weekend Hallway Project

Ok, so I'm already planning my weekend. Why? Well mostly because I thought it was Friday. Yeah, sometimes the days just flow into each other. But that's good, because now I have a whole extra day to get work done, since usually come Friday I'm wishing I had just one more day! It's been a busy week. I've wrapping up one project with the brand launch coming very soon, and have had those wheels turning in my head about what is next for Red King Press. Let me tell you, it's going to be big! I'm so excited, but I can't spill the beans yet.

Back to my weekend project. In case you didn't know, I love interior design. It is one of my design passions. And not just pretty paint colours and accessories, I like to get dirty. I've built furniture, done back splash, trim, etc. I used to rearrange my bedroom every month or so when I was growing up, it was the only way to "freshen up my space". I dream of a fixer-upper one day (and obviously the money necessary to do the work, DIY style). So the design du jour, I loath my entry way. It's typically looks like a hurricane came through. At least ten different pairs of shoes are thrown around, there are bags and purses and the coats and jackets spilling out of the closet, hanging over the door because it's Portland, and we can't decide which season we're in right now. Plus the bench. Oh the bench! It is ugly and uncomfortable, and has banged several dings into the wall behind it. I could go on for hours about how much I hate that bench, but I won't So, what's a girl to do? Can I get a design board here?!?

So here is the inspiration…

 VIA APARTMENT THERAPY

Pretty right? Clean, modern and white, so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I'll also be adding in my DIY chair to the mix, but against the opposite wall. I already have six IKEA Trones, so I'll utilize those, and I have some reclaimed wood for the hooks. Here's the final inspiration board. I'm just gushing.

What do you think? Am I on the right path? I think a trip to IKEA is in order this Saturday. Maybe then I will be motivated to finally finish my baseboards next week!
