THE MAGNOLIA COLLECTION
Ask any New Orleanian, and they’ll say the smell of jasmine in the air and magnolias in the sky is one of the greatest joys of Spring. Last year, I took so many pictures and cuttings of these intoxicating blooms during my daily walks.
Magnolias are a true symbol of New Orleans, and were meant to be a collection to showcase the creamy petals and deep green leaves, a mirror of the hard and soft balance of nature. I am so excited to be sharing this beautiful new collection with you. Enjoy!
CARVED PAINTINGS
Born from my love of carving, thick acrylic paint is built up layer by layer, day by day. The paint is then carved away, line by line, to reveal the shape and movement of each petal. The carving gives a depth and dimensionality that moves with the light and creates shadows in the passing daylight.

AN ORIGINAL CARVED PAINTING
Thick acrylic paint is built layer by layer on a wood panel, and then carved away to reveal the intricate details of each petal — delicate and complex. This piece is absolutely gorgeous, a single magnolia half open, yet to reveal herself fully.
The top layer is a deep green that was carefully mixed to match the colour of the magnolia leaves. Each layer underneath is a small variation of cream, to match the variance of colour of the magnolia petals. In total, five thick layers of acrylic paint make up this beautiful one of a kind carved painting.
This hexagon shaped carved painting makes a grand statement in an intimate space, or would balance out all the square angles on a gallery wall.

DETAILS
Carved painting is 6 inches in diameter, with 3 inch sides. The flat measurement is 5 ¼ inches.
Comes with a custom made natural wood frame measuring 7 ¾ inches in diameter with 4 inch sides. Flat measurement is 6 ¾ inches. Frame is 1 ½ inches deep and comes with a D-ring for hanging.
